It was kind of a whirlwind yesterday and I didn't have the chance to do my daily OWNit365.com reading. So I'm doubling up today. Good thing these are such incredible chapters to read -- fun to read -- easy to understand -- riveting stories -- and "gold" to apply to your life.
Here is what I got from yesterday's readings (today):
- Total obedience is a greater gift to God than huge sacrifice (1Sam 15:22)
- The more we grow in Christ, the more we learn to trust God instead of appearances (1Sam 16:7)
- The moment you care more about what people think instead of what God thinks, you're stuck; no longer walking with God (Prov 29:25)
And here's what I got from today's readings:
- If God is about to use you to courageously stand & trust Him, expect someone with "common sense" to say you can't (1Sam 17:33)
- This is an amazing picture of Ephesians 6, how Jesus (Jonathan) equips & arms us (David) for spiritual warfare (1Sam 18:4)
- If you treat God's word as Divine AND put all your trust in Him, then God PROMISES to have your back (Prov 30:5)

"Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him" Proverbs 30:5" This is the hope I draw upon even when all things seem hopeless. Satan will try his best to draw us away. I have no choice but to trust God. . .without Him I am truly nothing. Though the burdens of my heart continue, experiencing difficult times/trials as many of us are at the moment. . . knowing "God has my back" is reassuring. I know that without Him I wouldn't be here, with Him I will continue to put my faith and hope in Him to bring my daughter and myself through some very hard times. For anyone who may be reading wondering where to turn. . .it is to God.
