Want to read the Bible with me today? http://www.timhowey.com/2016/01/my-bible-reading-2016.html
First, ask God to see something you can apply to your life.
Then, read Matthew 27.
Then, write down something you can apply to your life.
Then, read what I wrote:
- Historical -- This chapter records the last hours of Jesus' life: His Roman trials, the release of Barabbas, His crucifixion, death, and burial.
- Doctrinal -- God revealed that He Himself tore the Temple veil in two when Jesus died (I.e. the tall, thick curtain that kept people away from God's throne) because it was torn from top to bottom: Jesus' death gave us direct access to God!! (See verse 51.)
- Inspirational -- My story is Barabbas' story (see verses 20-26): the innocent was killed (Jesus) so the guilty could be set free (me).
